FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to a method for manufacturing a hollow prosthesis-obturator of the upper jaw. The method includes obtaining an impression of the upper jaw defect and making a model of the upper jaw defect. After compression of the defect model with a layer of base wax, the obturating part is modeled with a relief spatial-volumetric configuration exactly corresponding to the prosthetic bed of the maxillary defect, using a U-shaped reinforcing wire element. It is fixed at the base of the gypsum stamp model of the obturating part and a wax prosthesis-obturator is modeled. The plastic is packed and polymerized and the dental product is made simultaneously without connecting seams in the form of a single integral prosthesis and obturator, providing complete obturation and spatial-volumetric configuration of the maxillary defect. When modeling a wax prosthesis-obturator, a diagram of the shape of the upper dentition reconstructed after maxillary resection is built and, using the diagram, the upper dentition is made.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of conformity to the prosthetic bed and strength characteristics of the prosthesis.
