FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to orthopedic dentistry, to maxillofacial prosthesis and is intended for use in rehabilitation of patients with acquired maxillary defects after operations for oncological diseases. In treating patients with oncological diseases, a maxillofacial occlusive prosthesis with an elastic lining adjoining the prosthetic bed is used. At that, basis is made of polymethylmethacrylate with elastic lining from propenic acid of hot polymerization, which is made so that when placing the prosthesis in the oral cavity, the lining is localized in the form of a ring in the area of the thinned mucosa of the soft tissue edges of the inlet opening of the acquired defect of the upper jaw and along a rigid section of the defect edge – a palatal suture.
EFFECT: use of the bottom prosthesis allows improving the quality of orthopedic rehabilitation of the patients with acquired upper jaw defect after operations for oncological diseases.
