FIELD: trains movement.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the movement of trains. In the method for automatic control of the speed of a long-range freight train, an acceleration or deceleration algorithm is automatically selected, in which the evaluation of the values of the longitudinal forces arising in the train is carried out, which makes it possible to assess the state of the train - stretched or compressed, before starting acceleration or deceleration. Depending on the state of the train, the acceleration or deceleration algorithm is selected in two stages: with reduced acceleration or deceleration at the first stage, and after the train is stretched or compressed, with maximum acceleration or deceleration at the second stage. Where, based on an assessment of the condition of the train, it is unlikely that longitudinal dynamic forces will occur in the train, in one stage, in which the entire acceleration or deceleration process is carried out with maximum acceleration or deceleration.
EFFECT: average speed of movement increases and the consumption of energy resources decreases.
