FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to equipment for induction heating of forging tools. Apparatus comprises a group of inductors for heating the upper die, a group of inductors for heating the lower die, power sources for said groups of inductors, an inductor cooling system in the form of two modules, and a control system. The inductors are made in the form of flat spirals placed in heat-insulated bodies secured separately on each side surface of the dies and connected, accordingly, to the power sources. Each of the power sources consists of four frequency converters powering each inductor independently. A forced power source cooling system divided into modules is provided. The power sources, the power source cooling modules, and the inductor cooling modules made for the lower die are located on a rail carriage rigidly connected to the retractable table of the press.
EFFECT: versatility of the induction heating system for rectangular forging tools, equalising of the temperature along the cross section of the forging tools, higher reliability and repairability of the induction heating system.
