SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the furniture industry, namely to mattresses for convertible furniture, and can be used in the design of sofa beds. The mattress contains the first layer (1) and the second layer (2), made transversely divided over the entire thickness with the formation of at least two adjacent parts (2a, 2b), the first layer (1) is made integral, and the second layer (2) is connected with the first with the possibility of opening the parts (2a, 2b) of the second layer and elastic deformation of the first layer when the mattress is bent. At the same time, the mattress additionally comprises a flat base (3) attached to the second layer (2), made of an inelastic material with the possibility of being connected to the furniture transformation mechanism, which provides bending of the mattress, and the specified base (3) is transversely divided over the entire thickness in the area (4) separating parts of the second layer (2).

EFFECT: increasing the thickness of the mattress while maintaining the possibility of folding it when transforming furniture, reducing the wear of the mattress, as well as eliminating the formation of irregularities in the folding area.
