FIELD: furniture industry.

SUBSTANCE: transformable bed, which can be used as an alternative to traditional sofa beds and chair beds. The bed contains: a frame (5) having a support part (7), a fixed rack (8) and at least one rotating rack (9); transformation mechanisms (10) connected to a fixed rack (8) and a rotating rack (9) of the frame; means for fixing (11) the rotating rack (9) of the frame in the raised position; and a mattress (6) connected to the fixed (8) and rotating (9) frame racks and containing the upper first layer (1) and the second layer (2), made transversely divided at the junction of the movable (8) and rotating (9) frame racks throughout its entire thickness, forming at least two adjacent parts (2a, 2b). The first layer (1) of the mattress is made solid, and the second layer (2) is connected to the first, allowing the parts (2a, 2b) of the second layer to open and the first layer (1) to elastically deform when the rotating rack (9) is lifted. In this case, the mattress (6) additionally contains a flat base (3) made of non-elastic material, connected to the second layer (2), a fixed (8) rack and a rotating (9) rack. Moreover, the base (3) is transversely divided across the entire thickness in the area (4) of separation of parts of the second layer (2).

EFFECT: increase in the thickness of the mattress while maintaining the possibility of transforming the bed, reducing wear of the mattress, as well as eliminating the formation of irregularities in the folding area.
