FIELD: fishing industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the fishing industry, in particular to methods for isolating fat-soluble carotenoids. A method for obtaining xanthophylls from Undaria pinnatifida is proposed, including the extraction of brown algae raw materials with a mixture of a 60% aqueous solution of glycerol with acetic and benzoic acids in a ratio of 1000 ml : 0.3 ml : 0.1 mg, respectively, at a ratio of raw materials : extractant 1 kg : 2 -2.5 l for 8 hours, then the extract is combined with a mixture of olive oil with soybean or sunflower oil at a ratio by volume of 40-45: 55-60, and the ratio by volume of extract : mixture of oils is 1: 1-1.2 and stripping is carried out for 8 hours at 22-24°C.

EFFECT: invention provides production of vegetable fat with a complex of xanthophylls for use as food additives with therapeutic and prophylactic properties, in cosmetology, in the food industry for the preparation of fish products, mayonnaise, sauces, and in aquaculture.
