FIELD: material processing.

SUBSTANCE: furnace for material processing, in particular for oxidative processing of fibrous material, in particular for the manufacture of carbon fibers, contains a case with an inner cavity, which is gas-impermeable, except for passage areas for fibers. A working chamber is located in the inner cavity of the case. There is a possibility of obtainment of a hot technological gaseous medium, using a device for provision of a gaseous medium. The device for provision of a gaseous medium contains a flow system with flow channels, which are located in the inner cavity, and which limit corresponding flow chambers, as well as contain flow passages, so that flow chambers are connected via fluid to the working chamber with the possibility of supply of the hot technological gaseous medium to the working chamber in at least one direction of the main flow and its release from the working chamber. At the same time, there is a revision system, using which access is provided to flow chambers of flow channels through the case. A method for material processing, using the specified furnace, is also claimed.
