Above-mentioned aerogel particles of hydrophobic silicon dioxide are dispersed in the aqueous phase, and their content is from 0.1% by wt. to 5% by wt. per the total weight of the composition. Alcohol is present in amount from 0.1% by wt. to 80% by wt. per the total weight of the composition. The composition does not have a form of an oil/water emulsion. A method for cosmetic treatment of keratin material for reduction or prevention of formation of unpleasant body odors associated with human sweating is also disclosed.
