FIELD: automation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automation systems for control of a technological process. A method for development of an automation system (A) is described. Before putting into operation of the automation system (A), it is usually tested. For each real component (OS1, OS2, AS1, AS2), a digital twin or virtual component (VOS1, VOS2, VAS1, VAS2) is created and loaded to a server (ES, S) to simulate implementation of a function of real components instead of them. A user, thus, can replace different real components with virtual components during development and control or simulate functions of the automation system.

EFFECT: increase in control for compliance with a technological process and reduction in errors.
