SUBSTANCE: method for control of a communication network session contains: reception by a session management function (hereinafter – SMF) of a trigger for release of a session of a packet data unit (hereinafter – PDU); sending by SMF to a user plane function (hereinafter – UPF) of a request for release of a session, which includes at least one of an identifier of use equipment (hereinafter – UE), an identifier of PDU session to be released, and ID of N4 session for UPF request for rejection of all remaining packets of PDU session and release of UE context in UPF, or all tunnel resources and contexts associated with N4 session in UPF; and reception by SMF of a response for release of a session from UPF.
