SUBSTANCE: invention relates to release of N2 connection associated with user equipment (hereinafter – UE). An access and mobility management function (hereinafter – AMF) receives from an access network (hereinafter – AN) of the first request for deactivation of a session of a packet data unit (hereinafter – PDU), including PDU identifiers (hereinafter – IDs) associated with PDU sessions of UE; AMF sends to one or several session management functions (hereinafter – SMFs), which serve for one or several PDU sessions to be deactivated, the second request for deactivation of a session of one or several PDU, including one or several identifiers indicating one or several PDU sessions to be deactivated; AMF receives from each one or several SMFs a response for deactivation of PDU session; AMF sends to AN a request for release of a connection of PDU session for release of UE context including N2 connection associated with UE; and AMF receives from AN a response for release of the connection of PDU session for confirmation of release of UE context.
