FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, in particular to radiation diagnostics, and can be used to determine the amount of deviation of the sagittal vertical axis - X-ray parameter of the overall sagittal balance of the spine. X-rays are taken. At the same time, a radiopaque string located perpendicular to the floor surface is attached to the table of the X-ray apparatus, which is in a vertical position. The subject is in a standing position, facing one side to the table, the other to the X-ray tube, with the position of the hands, excluding the layering of the X-ray shadow on the spine from the bones of the upper limbs. Two pictures are taken in a lateral projection: the first picture is taken at the level of the neck of the subject in such a way that the area of the picture captures the seventh cervical vertebra and the radiopaque string; without changing the position of the subject, the x-ray tube is shifted vertically down to the level of the lumbosacral spine and a second x-ray is taken with the capture of the radiopaque string, sacrum and femoral heads. Using a personal computer with software for viewing and processing the results of radiological examinations, the center of the seventh cervical vertebra is determined in the first picture - point No. 1, from which a perpendicular to the line of the radiopaque string is laid and its length l1 is measured. On the second picture, from the point corresponding to the posterior edge of the upper endplate of the first sacral vertebra - point No. 2, a perpendicular to the line of the radiopaque string is laid, its length l2 is measured. With the position of the string on both images on the same side, ventral or dorsal, relative to points No. 1 and No. 2, the deviation of the sagittal vertical axis SVA is calculated using the formula SVA=|l1-l2|. When the string is located on two images on opposite sides relative to points No. 1 and No. 2, ventral and dorsal, the formula SVA=l1+l2 is used to determine the deviation of the sagittal vertical axis.
EFFECT: invention allows to accurately calculate the value of the deviation of the sagittal vertical axis for subsequent assessment of the overall sagittal balance of the spine by determining the value of the deviation of the sagittal vertical axis using a radiopaque string.
