FIELD: radar technique.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radar technique of point air objects and can be used in radio electronic systems for radar recognition of types of observed air objects. In the claimed method, after the formation of the spectral Doppler portrait of the observed air object according to the known glider and reference - one of the spectral components of the formed spectral Doppler portrait, an estimate of the low-pressure compressor rotor speed is calculated. After comparing the observed spectral-Doppler portrait with the base of reference portraits, a complete matrix of errors in the estimates of the frequencies of the compared spectral components is formed, when calculating the likelihood functional, the weighted square of the difference between the frequencies of the spectral components of the generated and reference spectral-Doppler portraits is calculated, the threshold is additionally determined by the Chi-square criterion, with which the minimum value of the calculated weighted square of the frequency difference is compared. If the value is less than the threshold, then a decision is made to recognize the type of air object whose spectral Doppler portrait is contained in the database of standards, otherwise a decision is made to observe an unknown type of air object that is not in the database of standards.
EFFECT: increasing the reliability of recognition of the type of air object.
