FIELD: information technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processing of multidimensional signals, and can be used for processing of images or video sequences. Method of processing frames of a video sequence to determine the nature of movement of an object, based on determining presence of movement of an object, in which each frame of video sequence is supplied to input of meter of constant component of phase-energy spectrum of rows of frames 1, where constant component of phase-energy spectrum of line of each frame is measured, measured values from output of unit 1 are supplied to input of memory device 2, in which formation of a two-dimensional matrix with size IxN, where I is number of frame lines; N is the number of frames of the video sequence, from the output of unit 2 to the unit for selecting periodic pulses 3, a matrix is row-by-line transmitted, at the output of device 3 there are pulses with given parameters and arrive at the input of terminal device 4, at which there is displayed information on availability of periodic or quasi-periodic movement in corresponding sections of frames.

EFFECT: technical result is high accuracy of detecting frames of a video sequence of an object performing periodic or quasi-periodic motions.
