A method for saturating a liquid with gas in an apparatus with a stirrer includes supplying gas from the surface of a gas cavity formed by a stirrer with mounted blades to a rotating liquid to form a gas-liquid mixture. The ratio of the angular velocity of rotation of the liquid w_l in the apparatus to the angular velocity of the blades w is maintained at w_l/w<0.5. The ratio of the radius of the circle described by the outer end of the blades, R, to the radius of the gas cavity at the location of the blades R₁ is maintained at R/R₁>1.1.

EFFECT: increase in the intensity of mass transfer and a decrease in energy consumption for saturating the liquid with gas.
