FIELD: water engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method for continuous monitoring of the water content in boiling water-oil and hydrocarbon-water emulsions of natural and anthropogenic origin, in which the temperature of the boiling emulsion is measured and recorded during the process of water evaporation, the boiling liquid temperature is recorded at regular intervals, samples of the bottom liquid are taken and water content in the samples is determined, the boiling liquid temperature change is recorded over time, the temperature derived over time - dT/dt coefficient - is calculated, and the residual water content is plotted against the boiling liquid temperature and the dT/dt coefficient from the experimental data. The obtained dependencies of residual water content on boiling water temperature and dT/dt coefficient are used to continuously monitor residual water content in boiling emulsion in real time and to monitor the moment of complete emulsion dewatering during water evaporation from emulsion in any industrial or laboratory unit, at the same time, the current residual water content in real time and the moment of complete emulsion dewatering are determined by temperature of boiling emulsion and/or values of dT/dt coefficient where temperature of the boiling emulsion is 130-170°C and higher and/or reaching the dT/dt coefficient of 3.0 to 5.5 and higher means complete dehydration of the boiling emulsion.
EFFECT: invention provides real-time continuous monitoring of the water content in boiling water-oil and hydrocarbon-water emulsions of natural and anthropogenic origin.
