SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method for forming the teeth of a cutting blade or a protective element and to a cutting and bending system. A cutting apparatus containing a first die and a second die is used. The first die comprises multiple first elements, and the second die comprises multiple second elements. A workpiece is positioned in the cutting apparatus so that a section of the lower outer surface faces the upper surfaces of the multiple first elements and a section of the upper outer surface faces the lower surfaces of the multiple second elements. The first die and the second die are moved relative to each other so that each element of the multiple first elements passes at least partially between the neighbouring elements of the multiple second elements. The bending apparatus is used to bend the edge sections of the teeth of the resulting cutting blade or protective element protruding below the plane of the workpiece backwards in the direction of the plane of the workpiece.

EFFECT: sharp cutting edges with an acute angle are formed as a result.
