FIELD: navigation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of hydroacoustic direction finding and can be used for navigation of autonomous uninhabited underwater vehicles using transponder beacons. In the method for hydroacoustic positioning of an autonomous uninhabited underwater vehicle relative to the source of hydroacoustic navigation signal in the form of a transponder beacon located on an object of underwater or surface location, navigation accuracy is increased under conditions of small inclined distances between positioned objects by introducing five additional functionally related computational procedures into the positioning algorithm , allowing to reduce the algorithmic errors in calculating the angular coordinates of the source of the hydroacoustic navigation signal.
EFFECT: improving navigation accuracy in conditions of small inclined distances between positioning objects.
