DEVICE FOR ENDOLUMINAL TREATMENT OF VARICOSE VEINS DISEASE Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61B18/20

Abstract RU 2790759 C1

FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: device for coagulation of veins containing a flexible waveguide with a quartz core, having a proximal end with a connector, optically connected to a laser radiation source, while a distal end is made with the possibility of placement in a blood vessel. The device also contains a main diffuser in the form of a cone with radiation deflection, located at the optical output of the waveguide between its emitting surface and a protective cap transparent to laser radiation, a removable outer protective sheath made of polymer material and located on the waveguide over the protective cap and having a rough surface. A flexible waveguide with a quartz core has a non-removable metal coating and passes with increased friction through a removable outer protective sheath between the rollers of the automatic moving device and connected through the adhesive that when heated from 180-250° assumes a plastic form to the connector and a protective cap transparent for laser radiation with an adhesive length of not more than 2/3 of the length of the protective cap from the distal end. The device is equipped with an outer tube made of a polymer material located over a protective cap, waveguide and main diffuser, while the distal end of the main diffuser is made in the form of a second-order conical surface with two different angles of inclination ranging from 10° to 35° and from 36° to 60°.

EFFECT: improving the quality of vein coagulation, the maintainability of the device, reducing the burning of the light guide and reducing friction of the light guide against the vein.
