DEVICE FOR ENDOVENOUS LASER OBLITERATION OF CONVOLUTED TRIBUTARIES OF GREATER AND LESSER SAPHENOUS VEINS OF LOWER EXTREMITIES Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B18/20 A61B18/22 A61B17/34 A61N5/67

Abstract RU 2817685 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: device for endovenous laser obliteration of convoluted tributaries of greater and lesser saphenous veins of lower extremities, comprising a flexible optical elastic light guide with a distal end, made with possibility of placement in soft tissues and in blood vessels and consisting of a light-transmitting fibre with a reflecting coating, a protective braiding placed on top of a flexible elastic light guide, protective cap-holder from synthetic corundum with handle-holder, located on top of flexible optical elastic light guide on its distal end and optically connected to it, wherein the protective cap-holder on the side of the distal end of the elastic light guide is made in the form of a polished cone-shaped surface with a sharpening angle of 30–60°, and on the side of the handle-holder is made in the form of a polished rounded surface with a cone-shaped sharpening, which is sealed with a compound to provide a smooth reverse movement of the flexible elastic light guide along the vein, a source of laser radiation of near infrared and visible range, which is optically connected to a flexible elastic light guide.

EFFECT: improved quality of coagulation of convoluted tributaries of greater and lesser saphenous veins of lower extremities, minimizing the number of patient’s veins puncture during the endovenous laser obliteration procedure, reducing the inflammatory processes following the varicose vein surgery.
