FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: in the method of selecting an oilfield reagent for production practices, a reagent to replace the base reagent used in the production practice is selected by comparing the individual parameters of a number of alternative reagents with similar parameters of the base reagent. As individual parameters, the values of the detector signal and the wave number of the Raman shift of lines in the Raman spectra of the base and alternative reagents or the detector signal and the wave number of the absorption spectra in the infrared region of the base and alternative reagents are used. A reagent is selected from among alternative reagents and has the most similar individual parameters relative to the base reagent. The similarity of the individual parameters of the base and alternative reagents is quantified by the value of the Pearson linear correlation coefficients of the detector signals at the same wavenumber in the spectra for each pair of one of the alternative reagents and the base reagent. To replace the base one, a reagent with the highest value of Pearson's linear correlation coefficient, but not less than 0.7, is selected.
EFFECT: quick selection of the optimal oilfield reagent to replace the used basic oilfield reagent from a number of reagents to ensure the efficiency of oil and gas industry practices.
