SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for storing media, which includes: a housing frame having an input for replenishment and return on the front section, to which a transit cassette can be connected; an identification unit serving to identify whether the carrier is a normal carrier or a rejected carrier; a temporary retention unit made with the possibility of temporarily placing the carrier; a reuse cassette, made with the ability to store media identified as normal media; a transport path made with the possibility of transporting the media between the identification unit, the temporary retention unit and the reuse cassette; and a control unit made with the possibility of controlling by transportation so that the media replenished from the transit cassette is transported to the temporary retention unit, while the media transferred to the temporary retention unit is transported to the identification unit, and the media identified as normal media in the identification unit is transported to a reuse cassette.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to replenish an ATM with media of the required type and quantity from the transit cassette where the media are stored, and return the media stored in the reuse cassette to the transit cassette.
