METHOD OF CHOOSING TACTICS FOR TREATMENT OF PATIENTS WITH INFECTIOUS KERATITIS Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61F9/00 A61K39/395 A61P27/02

Abstract RU 2791383 C1

FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to select the tactics of treating patients with infectious keratitis. The method includes examining a patient to determine the signs of disease activity and choosing a pharmacological effect. When examining a patient, deepithelialization and infiltration of the corneal stroma, the presence of blood vessels at a distance of more than 2.5 mm from the limbus, as well as tissue detritus on the surface of the cornea are determined. Then, in the presence of blood vessels at a distance of more than 2.5 mm from the limbus and the absence of deepithelialization and infiltration of the corneal stroma and tissue detritus on the surface of the cornea, instillations of 0.1–0.25% bevacizumab solution into the affected eye from 2–3 times a day until the regression of the newly formed vessels is achieved. In the presence of deepithelialization and infiltration of the corneal stroma or tissue detritus on the surface of the cornea, antiangiogenic therapy with bevacizumab is not performed.

EFFECT: use of the invention makes it possible to achieve higher rates of visual functions in the outcome of the disease, improve the clinical prognosis in the upcoming keratoplasty and reduce the risk of graft rejection in the treatment of keratitis in patients after keratoplasty due to effective personalized exposure in cases with corneal neovascularization in infectious keratitis.
