FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to prevent postoperative complications of penetrating keratoplasty. The following risk factors are identified before the operation: cognitive status according to the Brief Human Mental Status Scale, impaired tear production according to the Schirmer test and/or Norn test, mycosis of the nails and skin of the fingers. With a score of 26 or less on the Minimal Mental Status Scale, behavioral therapy is conducted. If mycosis of the skin and nails is detected, the patient is treated for mycosis. If tear production disorders are detected according to the results of the Schirmer I test less than 10 mm and/or the Norn test less than 6 seconds, the patient is treated for tear production disorders.
EFFECT: method allows to prevent various complications of penetrating keratoplasty, reduce the risk of adverse outcomes of penetrating keratoplasty by assessing the most significant risk factors and timely treatment.
