FIELD: separation.
SUBSTANCE: inventions relate to separators and their use. A separator with a fluidized layer is described, including a case wall forming: a fluidized layer section having a chamber for fluidizing fluid distribution and at least one fluidizing fluid inlet for fluidizing fluid introduction into the chamber for fluidizing fluid distribution, wherein the fluidized layer section contains an upper wall having fluidizing fluid outlets; the main separation chamber above the fluidized layer section for fluidized layer formation inside the main separation chamber by means of fluidizing fluid coming out of the chamber for fluidizing fluid distribution through fluidizing fluid outlets and coming to the main separation chamber; and an upper separation chamber above the main separation chamber, containing inclined plates, transverse bars, channels formed between inclined plates and transverse bars; and overflow gutters feeding a storage tank. The separator contains a feeding section located between the upper separation chamber and the main separation chamber and having one or more feeding pipes passing horizontally and across the case wall and entirely located under inclined plates, wherein one or more feeding pipes have outlets for introduction of raw material sludge into the feeding sections. A method for operation of the above-described separator is described, in which material of above-sieve fractions is removed from a box with a set of sieves, from a channel for above-sieve fractions, and/or from a pipe for removal of above-sieve fractions by means of a purge valve by periodic activation of a purge valve drive.
