FIELD: air filter assembly for a heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system.
SUBSTANCE: filter assembly contains: a filter element, characterized by at least one variable size, and a frame designed to engage and support the filter element. The frame is adjustable to fit at least one variable size and secure the filter element. The frame is located in the HVAC return duct to fix the filter in the airflow of the HVAC system. The frame comprises flexible strips (4606) forming a rectangular configuration, each of the flexible strips (4606) being a spring steel part characterized by having a concave side (4614) and an opposite convex side (4616), such that the flexible strip (4606) is shifted to a linear state.
EFFECT: technical result is installation of the filter with sealed edges without any deformation of the replaceable filter.
