FIELD: ablative coatings.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for applying an ablative coating to a workpiece during laser impact hardening. The method includes preliminary cleaning with acetone and applying a preheated first layer to the surface of a metal part, which increases the adhesive properties and evens out the microroughness of the treated surface. The second layer is applied in the form of a metal tape or PVC tape on the first layer. The two layers together form an ablative coating. The prepared part is placed in a vacuum bag, vacuumized and placed in an autoclave. The remaining air in the gaps between the part and the applied ablative coating is removed under the action of increased pressure and temperature.
EFFECT: appearance of thermal defects of the part subjected to laser impact hardening is prevented.
