FIELD: power industry.
SUBSTANCE: method includes installation of a centralized coordinating system (CCS), which contains a coordinating control system connected by communication channels with a database and an optimal control subsystem for voltage and reactive power of a power system (OCS), and at least one decentralized voltage and reactive power control system node (DVRPCS), connected to the CCS by communication channels for data transmission. The coordinating control system receives information about the state of the power system, forms a slice of data on it and transfers it to the OCS, receives a list of control actions and settings of local regulators of operating automation from the OCS and transfers them to the power system in accordance with the required time of their application. The OCS evaluates and processes the data slice, selects the composition of the control actions and settings, generates an output tag for each control action corresponding to the number of the power system node to which the control action is directed. Each decentralized DVRPCS calculates the control actions and settings of local regulators of regime automation in stand-alone operation in the event of the disappearance of all communication channels with the CCS.
EFFECT: minimization of losses in the power system, increased optimization of operating modes of the power system equipment with simultaneous increase in the overall fault tolerance of the power system.
