SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, namely to therapy and dermatology; it is intended for the treatment of a patient suffering from itch or atopic dermatitis. A method for the treatment of a patient suffering from itch or atopic dermatitis includes determination, whether a biomarker, which is associated with an effect of treatment with tradipitant, is present in a biological sample of the patient. If the biomarker associated with the effect of treatment with tradipitant is present, then the patient is administered with tradipitant or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt at a dose, which is a regular dose, which would be selected without the determination stage.
EFFECT: use of the invention provides safe and effective treatment in a mode of motor therapy of chronic itch in patients suffering from atopic dermatitis.
