FIELD: induction heating unit.
SUBSTANCE: heating unit contains an induction source connected to a DC power supply, which is configured to generate an alternating electromagnetic field for inductive heating of the current-collecting unit. The current collector assembly comprises the first current collector containing the first current collector material and the second current collector containing the second current collector material having a Curie temperature below the operating temperature. In addition, the heating unit contains a controller functionally connected to the induction source and DC power supply. The controller is configured to determine the actual apparent resistance of the current collector, which indicates the actual temperature of the current collector, to determine the minimum value of the apparent resistance that occurs when the current collector is preheated, and to regulate the operation of the induction source so that the actual apparent resistance corresponds to a certain minimum value of the apparent resistance plus a predetermined apparent resistivity offset value to control the heating of the aerosol generating substrate to operating temperature. The invention is an induction heating unit for inductively heating an aerosol-forming substrate to an operating temperature. The present invention further relates to an aerosol generating apparatus, an aerosol generating system, and a method for induction heating of an aerosol generating substrate using such a heating unit.
EFFECT: improve the operation of the device.
