FIELD: multimodal polyethylene.
SUBSTANCE: method for producing a multimodal polyethylene composition, as well as a pipe containing said multimodal polyethylene composition, and their use. The composition of multimodal polyethylene according to the invention contains from 51 to 58 mass parts of low molecular weight polyethylene or medium molecular weight polyethylene; 12 to 21 mass parts of the first high molecular weight polyethylene or the first ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, 27 to 33 mass parts of the second high molecular weight polyethylene or the second ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene.
EFFECT: composition is used to make pipes characterized by impact resistance sufficient to withstand the effects of shock loads during a long-term installation, including excellent durability under gas or water pressure as measured by Slow Crack Growth (SCG) Resistance.
