FIELD: pressure processing of metals.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in manufacturing of tubular profiles used in bridge and crane structures, in load-bearing coating systems of various buildings and structures. By carrying out technological operations to change the cross section of a round pipe, a pipe with a hexagonal cross section is obtained. The cross section has a pair of equally high walls and two pairs of equally sized inclined faces. The inclined faces form obtuse angles of 120° with the walls. The ratio of the overall dimensions of the width and height of the section is 1/4.988 along the midline of this section.
EFFECT: increase in the bearing capacity of the resulting tubular profile.
