FIELD: document image authentication.
SUBSTANCE: method for detecting fluorescent fibres on images of identity documents in the UV spectrum includes the step of suppressing text information on the document by morphological closing operation by square primitive of the result of averaging the colour components in each pixel of the image, morphological opening operation by square primitive to obtain an image of the background of the document, step background stabilization, the stage of searching for points forming ridges that form a local maximum on the brightness profile of the original image of the document in the direction of the brightness gradient, the stage of grouping the found points and the stage of filtering groups by the number of pixels in the group.
EFFECT: improving the reliability of detection of fluorescent fibres in the images of documents in the UV spectrum with uneven illumination and a large number of noise objects.
