FIELD: identification.

SUBSTANCE: monitoring the authenticity of valuable documents and a method for detecting fluorescent adhesive spots on images of identity documents in the UV spectrum. The method includes obtaining an original image of a document page in RGB format, selecting areas with a characteristic color tone in the resulting image, searching for fluorescent spots, searching for the boundaries of fluorescent areas, obtaining a mask of adhesive spots and filtering non-static elements of the areas to obtain a binary map of adhesive spots. Depending on the results obtained, decisions are made about the presence of adhesive spots.

EFFECT: providing the ability to detect adhesive spots in conditions of uneven illumination, the presence of fluorescent protective elements of arbitrary shape and size, and false fluorescent elements.
