FIELD: construction materials.
SUBSTANCE: determine the frost resistance of a sample of a porous material, such as ceramic bricks. Capillary water saturation of the tested porous sample is determined by measuring the amount of absorbed water at various points in time between the start of measurement and the complete saturation of the sample. Determine the evaporated water from the test porous sample at various points in time between the start of drying of the fully saturated sample and its complete drying. Based on the measurement results, curves of water saturation and evaporation are built. Calculate the area of the inner region formed by the curves of water saturation and evaporation. Taking into account the calculated area, the frost resistance of the tested porous sample is determined.
EFFECT: reduction of test time, simplification of tests, exclusion of the use of complex and bulky equipment.
