METHOD FOR MODELING THERMAL BURN WOUNDS OF VARYING SEVERITY IN LABORATORY ANIMALS Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC G09B23/28 A61B18/04 A61B17/00

Abstract RU 2795024 C1

FIELD: medicine; experimental combustiology.

SUBSTANCE: do burn injury by a device with contact pad temperature of 100° C. Provide pressing force of 10 N and the exposure required to obtain a burn of the desired severity. In 10 seconds reach burn of the degree II, in 20 seconds - a burn of degree IIIa, in 30 seconds - a burn of degree IIIb, in 40 seconds - a burn of degree IV. Then suture the area along the perimeter of inflicted burn with non-absorbable suture material with atraumatic needle to the entire thickness of skin with capture of fascia and skeletal muscles.

EFFECT: method allows to create a model of performing standardized burn injury to skin of a given severity using easily accessible equipment, ensures repeatability of resulting burn wounds; avoids animal systemic exposure to heat, which ensures zero mortality; ease of burn injury.
