FIELD: manufacture of electrodes.
SUBSTANCE: layered base of the electrode for capacitive deionization includes a porous substrate layer and an ion-exchange layer deposited on one or both surfaces of the porous substrate layer, while the inner space of the pores of the porous substrate is filled with a cross-linked hydrophilic polymer. The capacitive deionization electrode includes a capacitive deionization electrode laminate and a carbon electrode deposited on one or both surfaces of the electrode laminate. The method for manufacturing a layered base of an electrode for capacitive deionization includes an impregnation step, where a layer of a porous substrate is impregnated with a solution of a hydrophilic polymer, a crosslinking step, where a crosslinking solution is applied to a layer of a porous substrate impregnated with a hydrophilic polymer to form a layer of a porous substrate of a cross-linked hydrophilic polymer inside the pores, and the step forming an ion-exchange layer, where one or both surfaces of the porous substrate layer filled with a cross-linked hydrophilic polymer are coated with an ion-exchange resin solution.
EFFECT: electrode for capacitive deionization features high deionization efficiency and wear resistance.
