FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: water-absorbing resin is proposed, made through polymerisation and cross-linkage of a monomer component, containing acrylic acid or its salt as the basic component. The resin has weighted mean particle diametre between 300 and 600 mcm, and contains powder particles with diametre less than 150 mcm in amount of 0 to 10 wt % with respect to the water-absorbing resin. The absorbent has total absorption capacity of at least 70 g/g and absorption efficiency of at least 70% under load.
EFFECT: obtained powdered water-absorbing resin has excellent balance between water absorption characteristics in the absence of a hydrophilic organic solvent.
