FIELD: downhole tools.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a downhole tool for removing metal particles from a wellbore and to a method for removing metal particles from a wellbore. The downhole tool comprises a magnetic element, an anti-rotation anchor, a particle removal unit, a particle container, and the first connecting end for connection to a downhole column mounted with the possibility of rotation. The magnetic element contains a cylindrical body having the first end and the second end. The particle removal unit contains a spiral longitudinal guide element installed around the cylindrical body. The anti-rotation anchor is operatively connected to the cylindrical body or the helical longitudinal guide such that actuation of the anti-rotation anchor during operation prevents rotation of the cylindrical body or the helical longitudinal guide, respectively, relative to the wellbore. The particle container has an opening at the second end of the cylindrical body. The cylindrical body and the helical longitudinal guide are rotatable relative to each other around the central axis of the downhole tool and are arranged in such a way that the metal particles accumulating on the surface of the cylindrical body during operation are guided by the helical longitudinal guide to the opening of the particle container when the anti-rotation the anchor is actuated and the first connecting end rotates.

EFFECT: reducing the time spent on removing metal particles from the well due to the fact that the proposed downhole tool does not need to be raised to the surface for intermediate cleaning and removal of metal particles.
