FIELD: aerosol cans.
SUBSTANCE: pressurized filling of aerosol cans or pressurized containers. In particular, the invention relates to injection of propellant gases into aerosol cans in which a polyurethane (PU) foam composition is packaged. A method for making a pressurized container or aerosol can containing a polyurethane foam formulation comprises the steps of closing the container, after liquid components have been introduced, by securing in the head opening of the container a valve with a hollow valve stem centred in a round valve cap, which continues into the rim of the valve. The closed container is pressurized by injecting at least one propellant gas through the valve stem, whereby the valve is opened by compressing the valve stem relative to the valve rim towards the valve cap. During injection, the valve stem is compressed from its idle position with the valve closed to a distance of at most 85% of the compression distance corresponding to a reference point on the compression force distance curve recorded on a test bench for a valve of the same embodiment.
EFFECT: reducing the risk of damaging the valve of aerosol cans with PU foam during assembly of the aerosol can and packaging with heated PU foam, as well as reducing the risk of losing the valve response rate at the end of filling with propellant gas.
