FIELD: environmental protection.
SUBSTANCE: used to support plant growth under conditions of lack of moisture. The method involves pre-sowing soil treatment with a means, which includes a silicon-containing material. The product additionally includes a sodium salt, which is part of the group consisting of sodium chloride, sodium sulfate, where the silicon-containing material is amorphous silicon dioxide with a surface area of at least 30 m2/g. At the same time, the mixture of amorphous silicon dioxide and sodium salt in the mass ratio is from 30/1 to 1/1, where the value of the mass of sodium salt in the composition of the agent is selected taking into account the type of plant being grown. At the same time, the value of the mass of sodium salt is chosen, the value of which does not exceed the value of the mass of sodium salt absorbed from the soil by plants during their cultivation. Pre-sowing treatment is carried out with an agent made in the form of a dry mixture of amorphous silicon dioxide and sodium salt, at an agent consumption ranging from 10 to 500 kg/ha.
EFFECT: better development of the plant root system due to the influence of amorphous silicon dioxide and increasing the water-retaining capacity of the soil.
