FIELD: agrotechnics. SUBSTANCE: objective of invention is restoring polluted soils and exploiting them under conditions of strong chemical and physical loadings. Mineral component of soil conditioner is a mixture of two or more solid silicon- containing substances with silicon content from 5 to 45%, at least one of these substances consumed in amounts from 50 to 10000 kg/ha being in noncrystalline form with particle size not larger than 1 mm, whereas other substances consumed in amounts from 100 to 20000 kg/ha are in noncrystalline or crystalline form with particle size not larger than 5 mm. Solid silicon-containing substances may be environmentally safe solid industrial and agricultural silicon- containing wastes such as ashes, slags, dusts, and so on, chemically pure silicon-containing compounds such as amorphous silicon dioxide, quartz sands, calcium silicate, magnesium silicate, etc., and also ground silicon-containing rocks such as sand, sandstone, zeolite, tuff, etc. EFFECT: reduced heavy metal pollution level in soil, improved water-air properties of upper level of soil, and improved immunity of plants to unfavorable growth conditions. 5 cl, 1 tbl
