SUBSTANCE: thoracic organocomplex is removed and the heart is placed with its tip towards the dissector. The pulmonary artery is opened as follows: the transverse sinus is mobilized with surgical scissors. On the anterior wall of the right ventricle, an incision is made 0.5 cm medially from the notch of the apex of the heart, and, pressing the branch of the scissors against the interventricular septum, an incision is made through the right ventricle. The incision is continued longitudinally relative to the pulmonary artery trunk, and, dissecting the pulmonary artery trunk along the anterior wall, an incision is first made to the right along the right pulmonary artery, after which a second incision is made along the left pulmonary artery.

EFFECT: method allows practically not to set the heart in motion, while thromboemboli in the pulmonary trunk retain their position and topography; the method also provides access to the vessel with maximum visualization of thromboembolus in the lumen of the artery.
