SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and can be used for surgical treatment of atrial fibrillation. Method for surgical treatment of atrial fibrillation involves applying a marker in the avascular zone of the lower wall of the left ventricle, extending it onto the atrioventricular sulcus and the posterior wall of the left atrium, after which the heart is lowered into the wound, a bipolar electrode is applied on the line marked with a marker and the left isthmus is isolated, further, the left atrial appendage is amputated, for which the base of the latter is closed with the help of two opposite felt strips by means of a horizontal mattress suture, after tying both ends of the suture, the auricle of the left atrium above the strips is cut off, and the upper edge of the strips is sutured with both ends of the same suture by overlapping a double-row blanket suture.

EFFECT: invention is aimed at eliminating the risk of intraoperative complications when performing radiofrequency ablation.
