SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method for firing carbonated material in a parallel-and-counterflow regenerative shaft furnace (PCF-shaft furnace), as well as to a parallel-and-counterflow regenerative shaft furnace. The method includes roasting and cooling of carbonate rocks in a parallel-and-counterflow regeneration shaft furnace (10) with two shafts (12, 14) operated alternately: as a shaft for firing and as a regenerative shaft. Moreover, the material is passed through the preheating zone (32, 34), at least one firing zone (50, 52) and the cooling zone (60, 62) to the outlet hole (24, 26) for the material. Wherein the fuel is fed inside or above the preheating zone (32, 34), wherein the fuel is heated in the preheating zone (32, 34) before entering the firing zone (50, 52).
EFFECT: reduced consumption of thermal energy or fuel, reduced electricity consumption.
