SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of contraception. A method of contraception in a woman includes determining the woman's body weight and internally administering progestin and estrogen to the woman in accordance with the following scheme: progestin equivalent to 90–120 mcg/d levonorgestrel and estrogen equivalent to 20 or 30 mcg/d ethinyl estradiol if the woman weighs less than 130 pounds (59 kg); a progestin equivalent to 150–329 mcg/d levonorgestrel and an estrogen equivalent to 20 or 30 mcg/d ethinylestradiol if the woman weighs over 130 pounds (59 kg) but less than 200 pounds (91 kg); or a progestin equivalent to 150–460 mcg/d levonorgestrel and an estrogen equivalent to 20 or 30 mcg/d ethinyl estradiol if the woman weighs over 200 pounds (91 kg).
EFFECT: invention provides delivery of progestins and estrogens in personalized amounts in relation to body weight of women receiving treatment.
