FIELD: devices for secret or covert communication.

SUBSTANCE: technical result is achieved by generating encryption keys in form of two binary sequences selected from two sets of binary n-bit sequences. The first of the sets contains 2n-1 elements, which are used to set the register of the pseudo-random sequence generator, built on the basis of a linear n-bit homogeneous register environment with a programmable feedback structure, to the initial state. Elements of the second set, the number of which is 2n-1, are used to form the generator feedback structure, the total number of key pairs is (2n-1)⋅2n-1, the number of options for the initial setting of the pseudo-random sequence generator is determined based on a homogeneous register environment with a programmable feedback structure, which, at each setting with subsequent clocking, generates 2n-1 binary sequences of bit width n at the outputs, differing in the sequence of states, used to encrypt data blocks by gamma coding.

EFFECT: increasing the cryptographic strength of the cipher used to protect confidential data.
