FIELD: electrical communication engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to telecommunication and information technology, namely to the technique of cryptographic protection of redundant binary information in data exchange over public transmission channels in which the violator can read information without authorization. Technical result of the invention is arithmetic encoding with encryption of a redundant binary information sequence, providing reduced required rate of transferring the encrypted information. Said technical result is achieved by receiving next part of binary information sequence at transmitting side from a sender, calculating values of the first and second encoding frequency counters, calculating, from the main key, next part of the operational key, according to which the length of next part of binary information sequence and next dimension of the encoding alphabet are determined, values of the first and second encoding registers are determined, performing arithmetic encoding of next part of binary information sequence, forming next part of encrypted sequence from the next part of encoded sequence, transmitting next part of encrypted sequence to the receiving side, calculating the values of the first and second decoding frequency counters on the receiving side, calculating, from the main key, next part of the operational key, according to which the length of next part of received binary information sequence and next dimension of the decoding alphabet, determining the values of the first and second decoding registers, performing the arithmetic decoding of next part of received encrypted sequence in next part of received binary information sequence.
EFFECT: invention can be used to ensure the confidentiality of compressible redundant binary information transmitted in modern information and telecommunication systems.
