FIELD: communications.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to providing the possibility to carry out secure exchange of information in the communication network between onboard objects of a vehicle. It is achieved in that the method for transmitting messages in a data network on board a vehicle between an entity requesting a service instance and an entity offering a service instance via the SOME/IP communication protocol includes a step of mutual authentication between the requesting entity and the offering entity, taking into account transmission of data associated with the service instance, including checking for the existence and mutual validity of a pre-issued certificate between the requesting entity and the offering entity that permits access to the service instance, and verifying that the level of security at which the service is offered by the offering entity is not less than the minimum security level pre-assigned to the service by the requesting entity and the offering entity, and the step of transmitting at least one data message associated with the service instance from the offering entity to the requesting entity and vice versa, if the certificate verification and the security level verification are successful.

EFFECT: possibility to carry out secure exchange of information in the communication network between onboard objects of a vehicle.
